Bottle Share

Nothing beats a good ol’ bottle share. Friends gathered around a table, each pulling something special from the cellar, eager to pour and taste what everyone else brought. It’s simple, generous, and full of discovery, the heart of what made beer culture so fun, and we don’t do it enough anymore.

We want to bring that spirit back more regularly, so we’re starting up a quarterly bottle shares at Bock.

Dig deep into your stash (you know it’s time), bring a bottle or two to share, and let’s open some memories together.

Keep the Stein: Weihenstephaner

Founded in 1040, Weihenstephaner is widely regarded as the oldest continuously operating brewery in the world. What began as a Benedictine monastery brewery in Bavaria has become one of Germany’s most respected producers of classic styles including classic Hefeweissbier, Dunkel, Festbier, and beyond. Nearly a thousand years later, they’re still brewing with the same focus on purity, balance, and tradition that made them legendary.

Perfect beer for the day after Thanksgiving: rich history, easy drinking, and a stein worth taking home.

Drink About Beer Bus

DrinkAbout started way back in the 2010 pre-rideshare era as a way to connect neighborhood beer spots in a safe and social way. Over the years stops on the route included Blind Lady Ale House, Small Bar, Live Wire, Ritual, Sea Rocket, Station, Tiger!Tiger!, Toronado and Hamiltons. 15 years later a lot has changed for sure!

This year DrinkAbout is back for one night only as a part of the San Diego Beer Week!

Bottle Share

Back in the golden days of craft beer, nothing beat a good old bottle share. Friends gathered around a table, each pulling something special from the cellar, eager to pour and taste what everyone else had been saving. It was simple, generous, and full of discovery, the heart of what made beer culture so fun. We’re bringing that spirit back for SD Beer Week. Dig deep into your stash (you know it’s time), bring a bottle or two to share, and let’s open some memories together.

Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest at Bock

This year will be our very first Oktoberfest at Bock and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate it with the neighborhood! From September 19 to October 4 we’ll be raising steins, pouring beers from the legends of Munich alongside a few from the new world, and filling the bar with music, festive decor, and plenty of good cheer. Our friends at Biersal will be cooking hearty German plates to keep you going all season long.

Each weekend will feel like stepping into a different tent at Oktoberfest. One week it’s Paulaner, the next it’s Hofbräu, then Hacker-Pschorr to close it out. Every stop brings its own beer, food, and atmosphere, along with some friendly competition in the form of stein-holding contests.

We also made limited Bock Oktoberfest steins and shirts so you can take home a piece of the season. It’s our first Oktoberfest, it’s your new neighborhood bar, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit!

Weekend 1: Paulaner Weekend (Fri 9/19 – Sun 9/21)

We’re kicking things off with a ceremonial keg tapping and live accordion performance to set the mood. Stick around for festive décor, traditional pours, and our Stein Holding Contest.

Highlights:

  • Friday 9/19: Oktoberfest Kick-Off 6–9pm. Keg tapping + live accordion (6–8pm).

  • Saturday 9/20: Stein Holding Contest at 3pm.

  • Food Special: Schweinshaxe: pork knuckle braised in beer, oven-crisped, with gravy, sauerkraut, and roasted potatoes.

Weekday Spotlight: Enegren Brewery (Thurs 9/25, 5–8pm)

Meet Josh and Bob from Enegren, enjoy a lineup of special releases, and take home your very own Enegren stein. Featured beers include their Oktoberfest, Festbier, 14th Anniversary Helles Bock, and Blondfire Smoked Helles.

Weekend 2: Hofbräu Weekend (Fri 9/26 – Sun 9/28)

The party continues with Hofbräu in the spotlight. Expect polka tunes on the house sound, Bavarian outfits, themed décor, and plenty of festive pours.

Highlights:

  • Saturday 9/27: Seek Run Club at Noon

  • Food Special: Brathendl: half roast chicken with potato salad and cucumber dill salad.

Weekend 3: Hacker-Pschorr Weekend (Fri 10/3 – Sat 10/4)

We’ll close out the series with Hacker-Pschorr, more music, festive vibes, and classic Bavarian plates.
