From the edge of eastern Austria, near the Hungarian border and the shores of Lake Neusiedl, Meinklang has become one of the defining wineries of the modern natural wine movement.
But Meinklang is more than a winery. It’s a fully biodynamic farm. The Michlits family raises cattle, grows grains, fruit, vegetables, and grapes together as one living ecosystem. The cows on the label are not branding. They are part of the philosophy. Compost from the farm feeds the vineyards, biodiversity is prioritized, and the wines are made with as little intervention as possible.
The result is wine that feels alive, energetic, and deeply connected to place.
For one night at Bock, we’ll be pouring a special Meinklang flight featuring three wines that showcase different sides of the winery’s approach:
•2024 “Epic” Sparkling
(Grüner Veltliner, Muscat, Welschriesling)2024 Grüner Veltliner
2024 “Mulatschak” Rot
$15 for the 3-wine flight.
All wines also available by the glass and bottle.
If you’re curious about natural wine, Meinklang is one of the best places to start. Thoughtful farming, minimal intervention, and wines meant as much for conversation and community as analysis.
